	ELCINA successfully organized the following programmes at Cochin on April 24 & 25, 2008:- 24th April, 2008 Business Development Meet with NeST Group (at SFO Technologies, Cochin SEZ) ELCINA’s EC & Southern Region Meeting, which was followed by cocktails and dinner (at the Wyte Fort Hotel) 25th April, 2008 ELCINA-KSIDC Workshop on “Electronics Hardware Industry - Advantage Kerala” (at Hotel Le Meridien), followed by an interactive session with Mr. E Kareem, Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Kerala and senior government officials.
	ELCINA analysed the Annual Supplement to Foreign Trade Policy 2008-09 and circulated the same to all Members on 11th April, 2008.
	ELCINA analysed the Budget Prpoposals for 2008-09 and circulated the same to all Members on 1st March, 2008. A meeting of the Executive Committee of ELCINA was held at ELCINA House, New Delhi, on the morning of 7th March, 2008. This was followed by lunch and CEHA’s Post Budget Interactive Session at PHD House, New Delhi. Govt officials participated in the CEHA Session included : Dr. Shubhashis Gangopadhyay, Adviser to Finance Minister, Shri. Vivek Johri, Joint Secretary-TRU (Finance Ministry), Dr. U P Phadke, Advisor,  Shri. S S Midha, Director, and Shri. S K Marwaha, Addl. Director (DIT). The Session was participated by Members/representatives of ELCINA, MAIT, CEAMA, TEMA, ISA. A presentation was also made by PWC representatives (Mr. R. Muralidharan & Mer. Barun Varma) on tax implications of the Budget.
	A new edition (21st) of ‘ELCINA Directory of Indian Electronics Industry 2008’ was released along with software version (CD) during the ELCINA-WEBEL Seminar organized in Kolkata on 8th Feb/08. Like the past editions, the new Directory includes the usual updates and a host of additional improved features covering business environment, statistical industry scan, company databases plus various projections. This handy compendium with its easy-to-read format continues to attract the attention of a growing number of users (within India and abroad). While one complimentary copy will be sent to all ELCINA members, additional copies can be obtained from ELCINA Office in Delhi on payment of Rs.600/- + Rs.50/- (towards packing & forwarding through courier).
