The Highlights of the 2010-11 Union Budget Proposals presented by the Finance Minister on 26th Feb, 2010, were circulated to all ELCINA members the same day itself. The ELCINA Executive Committee also met at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, on 4th March, 2010 to discuss the implications of the Budget proposals. This was followed by CEHA’s Meeting and Post Budget Interactive Session. Apart from members of CEHA constituents, the Session was participated by Shri R. Chandrashekhar and Shri Rakesh Singh, DIT’s Secretary and Addl Secretary respectively. Two senior officials from the Finance Ministry – Shri Y. Garg and Shri R. Kapur (both Directors of TRU) – also joined and clarified certain queries raised by CEHA members. Other DIT officials participated in the session are : Shri Debashish Dutta, Shri Arun Sachdeva, Shri S.S. Midha and Shri S.K. Marwah. |

ELCINA released the 23rd edition of its Directory of Indian Electronics Industry for 2010 on 25th February, 2010 by the hands of the DIT Secretary, Shri R. Chandrasekhar, during ELECTRONICS NEXT Exhibition at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Like our past editions, the new Directory includes the usual updates and a host of additional improved features covering business environment, statistical industry scan, company databases plus various projections. Along with the printed version of the Directory, electronic version is available on a CD.

Along with a meeting of ELCINA’s Northern Region Members, a new Conference Facility created after renovation of the basement area of ELCINA House was inaugurated on 19th February, 2010. The new Conference Hall with all modern facilities can accommodate about 40-45 people.

ELCINA successfully organized its International Conference & Mini Exhibition titled “Source India – Electronics Supply Chain” at the Trident Hotel, Chennai, on 21st December, 2009. This Event was a focussed effort to encourage local manufacturing, value addition and local content in electronics equipment manufactured in India. Source India was supported by Department of Information Technology, Government of India, NOKIA and national electronics industry associations including CEAMA, MAIT, ISA and IPCA. Leading electronic equipment companies from Telecom, Consumer Electronics and IT sector participated as Key Buyers, which included Nokia, Tyco Electronics, Philips, Dixon Technologies, LG Electronics, HCL, Dell, Elcoteq and Foxconn. The event consisted of a Conference followed by One-to-One Business Meetings, concurrently with a Mini Exhibition of key component and equipment manufacturers. About 18 companies participated in the Mini Exhibition, while there were around 125 delegates from over 60 premier electronic sector companies, bringing a world of opportunities under one roof. Industry leaders and CEO’s from Nokia, Dell, Moser Baer, Amphenol, C-DOT, Tyco, Dixon etc. shared their experiences during the conference. The programme concluded with a Networking Dinner.

A special function was organised by ELCINA in Vainguinim Vailey Resort, Goa on 20th Nov/09 to express its gratitude and felicitate Old Members & Past Presidents. Members who have been with ELCINA for 25 years or more and all Past Presidents were felicitated during the function. All the old staff, including Mr. Ghanisham Dass, who have been working in the ELCINA Secretariat for more than 3 decades, were also felicitated. The programme was followed by a cultural evening, cocktails & dinner. The following day (21st Oct), visits were organized to the Plants of Elin Electronics and Titan Time Products which are located at Verna Industrial Area in Goa |
