5th India Taiwan Electronics Meet (ITEM) – 2019

India has taken major steps to enable growth of its Electronic Systems Design & Manufacturing (ESDM) Industry during last few years including announcing its first National Policy for Electronics(NPE) in 2012 which is now revised and an improved NPE 2019 has been announced recently. Major Nation building initiatives such as Make in India, Digital India, BharatNet, Smart Cities, National Solar Mission, Skill India and move towards a cashless economy have generated huge demand. The market for Electronic Systems and Equipment has crossed US$140 Bn and is expected to exceed US$400 Bn by 2025.

ELCINA launched the “India-Taiwan Electronics Meet (ITEM)” in 2015, a bilateral business to business meet-cum-conference to promote collaboration between Indian and Taiwanese companies. Strong participation by companies from Taiwan in the previous years has been of great value and has catalysed growth in business between Indian and Taiwanese Companies.

For the 5th year in succession, ELCINA in association with Institute for Information Industry Taiwan (III), TEEMA, TCA and TPCA is organising the

“India-Taiwan Electronics Meet – 2019” on 30th May, 2019 in Taipei

The India-Taiwan Electronics Summit will consist of

  • A Conference which will highlight the opportunities in the Indian market as well as new policies and current initiatives for establishing an efficient manufacturing eco-system in the country.
  • A B2B Session will also be organised post lunch in which participants from both countries can interact and find new partners. With support from Taiwanese Associations, ELCINA will try to pre-arrange meetings between companies from both economies based on their business profiles and business interest.
  • Interaction with Key companies who are interested in investing in India

The Objectives of the event:

  • Forge a strong relationship between Taiwanese and Indian industry and create a win-win scenario with multiplier benefits for both
  • Present the National Policy for Electronics as well as Policies of State Governments
  • Highlight new initiatives like Make in India, Digital India, Skill India, Smart Cities and others, which offer great opportunity for Taiwan companies for partnerships with India
  • Explain the viability/attractiveness of investment in manufacturing with benefits under these new policies
  • Share details of the Growing Indian market and key growth sectors
  • Arrange one-to-one B2B meetings between potential partners from India and Taiwan by sharing information between the industry associations
  • State Governments' participation in the event to promote investments in their States and new Clusters being developed by Govt as well as Private organisations
  • Create a harmonious environment for business meetings and networking

ELCINA Delegation to Taiwan

ELCINA organized delegation to Taiwan along with the member companies from 8th October to 12th October 2018 and organised the 4th India – Taiwan Electronics Meet (ITEM) on 11th Oct, 2018 in Taipei. Also visited the 44th Taipei International Electronics Show (Taitronics 2018), organized by TAITRA/TEEMA at Nangang Exhibition Hall, Taipei World Trade Center, Taipei during 9-12 Oct, 2018.

The 4th India – Taiwan Electronics Meet, 2018, a half day Conference and Buyer Seller forum for networking with Taiwanese companies and One to One discussions.

ELCINA has taken the initiative to launch the “India-Taiwan Electronics Meet (ITEM)” in 2015 as a bilateral business to business meet-cum-conference to promote collaboration between Indian and Taiwanese companies. ITEM aims to catalyse growth in collaborations and business between Indian and Taiwanese Companies from electronics sector.

Support from Institute for Information Industry and by Key Associations TEEMA, TPCA and TCA is of great value in organising and successfully bringing industry on one platform.

The event was very successful and about 80+ Taiwanese organisation participated and interacted with 15+ ELCINA member companies. Mr. Pankaj Kumar, IAS, Additional Secretary, Meity graced the occasion as the chief guest. Mr. Amrit Manwani, President ELCINA dwelt on ELCINA’s strong commitment to promote manufacturing and creating a supportive ecosystem to accelerate all-round growth of value-added manufacturing and electronic manufacturing/services in the country.

Apart from visiting Taitronics and ITEM, ELCINA also organised plat visits to Advantech and CviLux. The plant visits were very informative.
